Our farm is situated in the most ancient part of Tuscany, surrounded by the magnificient landscape of Val d'Orcia Natural Artistic and Cultural Park declared World Hertitage Site by UNIESCO. The love for the agriculture runs in the blood of Gori Family, this deep feeling is based on the strong bond between ancient crafts and daily activity of authentic rural life. From the very beginning we opted for the organic farming making some experiments also in biodynamics driven by care for customer's wellbeing and farm biodiversity preservation. The surface of our farm is about 280.000 m², it includes forest, 20 ha of arable land, wineyard, olive grove and hopyard.
This ideal Renaissance city, located on a hill at an altitude of 491 meters above sea level, owes its name to PIO II who made the first steps in its transformation. After Aeneas Silvio Piccolomini became Pope and took the name of PIO II, he decided to turn the place of his birth, the fortified town of Corsignano, into a luxurious residence. In 1459 he commissioned the project to the Florentine architect Bernardo Gambarelli, nicknamed Il Rossellino, who was a supporter of the ideas of the famous architect and theorist Leon Battista Alberti.
We grow traditional Tuscan “cultivar”: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, Colorino. Trebbiano and Tuscan Malvasia. We decided to collect each cultivar separately and, if necessary, mix them together later.
OLIVE GROVEOlive oil CasaGori is obtained from the different varities of olives that have always been grown here: Moraiolo, Leccino, Correggiolo and Pendolino. Recently we added Leccio del Cornio and Maurino.
The plantation consists of 300 rhizomes of Hops and 10 "Cultivar". We need hops for hop yeast to produce beer according to old recipes, where it is supposed to use only water, barley malt and hops of the best varieties.
In our forest are nestled beehives to get different kinds of honey - flower honey in June and forest honey in the hotter period of the year. Our honey is certified organic and our bees are the part of the farm ecosytem.
